Let me see...

I use a no sulphate poo once a week to get rid of any silicone buildup.

I use a sulphate & EDTA poo once a month to get rid of hard water mineral buildup.

I shampoo my scalp, but it gets onto the rest of my hair. I don't see how it can't.

I put a dollop in my palm & add some water to it just so it spreads easier between my hands then I apply it. So, yes, I dilute it, somewhat.
