No one ever said anything about my hair when I was in high school even though I didn't even know how to care for or style my curly hair (many bad hair days as a result), being from a Latin American country. But when I moved to Taiwan for college (and already knowing what worked for my hair), my hair became a topic of conversation. The most dissing thing someone has said to me was by a guy from Thailand: "Your hair is not that bad, it's just all over the place..." It didn't do much for my confidence, to have a cute guy tell me that, but it didn't hurt, exactly.
