My friend and i were just discussing this exact same thing the other day. She is a curly in denial who only likes the perfectly formed curling iron curls. I prefer the wilder, crazier hair that is more natural curl, frizz and all. What works for me doesn't work for her because we want to achieve different things and that's ok.
And your hair is incredible. I can only dream of that length. I am growing now so might see your length in about 10 years. Lol!
