I am not a hair twin, so take this with a grain of salt. But the only gel I like is BRHG, which is a very hard hold gel. LALSG has glycerin, which my hair hates. AIF does not contain glycerin (or protein) and is a great option for many. Unfortunately this one makes my hair frizz also - I think due to the polyquat 4 in it. But, both LALSG and AIF are inexpensive, so you may just have to get them and try them.
