Everyday shea is a very simple conditioner, basically just an emulsion of water and oil.

Gels are usually high in humectants. But aloe vera gel, marshmallow root (like in kinky curly products), and flax seed gel are mild humectants, not like glycerin, sorbitol, and propylene glycol.

KCKT is also a great product to try. Sealing with a bit of oil would knock back any of the problems that the marshmallow root may give you.
