Have you tried using a diffuser to bring out curls? Diffusers work with your naturally curly texture and bring them out (but without the frizz). A diffuser isn't expensive, although make sure it's the right size for your hair dryer. I was lucky enough to get a Karmin G3 salon pro hair dryer for my birthday and it comes with its own diffuser

But you can pretty much buy them anywhere, most are under $20. Oh and remember to use a good heat protectant before you use it!
