For some it is, for some it isn't.
Honey is a humectant, though a mild one. Which means that on very humid or very dry days, it might cause frizz. For some people, raw honey can bleach their hair a little. Heating the honey before applying prevents that.
If your hair likes protein, it'll probably like coconut oil and argan oil too. Those don't contain protein, but they bond to protein in the hair, slowing protein loss.
