New haircut! Pics! Didn't run home crying! :)
So I finally had a salon experience-- a haircut and style-- that I am happy with! I did lots of research after 2 really bad experiences, and this stylist used the CG method on me to a T, way more by the book than I even do it. He's not Deva trained, but sure knew what he was doing.
I told him I wanted to keep most of my length in the back, but wanted a nicer shape that would blend my bangs in with the rest of my hair and make my curls bouncy again. He cut some sections together, and then cut individual curls, my hair was dry. Then we went to the shampoo bowl. But he skipped the shampoo completely, yay!
He detangled me with conditioner and after rinsing just a tad, he had me flip my head over and scrunched my hair-- with paper towels!!! My dress got wet under my gown, lol, but no big deal. He sat me under a hooded dryer and then diffused a bit to trim a few pieces, and with conditioner only, these pics are my results, after biking home in awful weather. First pic is before, so you see how long it was.
I am a little freaked out about the length, especially in the front-- it's about 3 inches shorter (dry) in most places. I have not had my hair this short in 20 years. But, I think it will grow out much better now. I'm also going to use gel next time I wet it, since that weighs my curls down a little.
But overall I am so happy! Will be going back to him for color.
ETA: And it was cheap! $65!!
