I never liked HETT, but I did like the HETMS as well, and like you, I put gel over it. It worked for a while, then it did not. I dont think it was the mousse, I think it was the mousse-gel combo. I dont do well with gels, period. I dont like them, cant apply them well, dont like the finished product. I have used Pantene and Aussome as well with decent results - and no gel.
