My friends and I were discussing "hair" one evening and the topic of "nappy" came up. My friend heard the term at work and didn't know what it meant. I explained the positive and the negative meanings of the word. Her sister then said she usually hears it around black women who have their hair relaxed, and it begins to revert back.

I thought that was interesting! I never heard the term "nappy" being used to describe relaxed hair needing a touch-up.
