You work up to it.
I need some really really upbeat music. And loud. I force myself to not even look at my time until the song is over. Then its about setting mini goals. Then its, 3 minutes, oh God. 2 minutes. That's only one more than a minute. No problem. Then only a minute left? A minute is nothing. I can do a minute!
Its tough. The first 5 min run is the hardest.
