Could totally be normal, especially if you have heat and/or sulfate damage. Just sound to me like it's still dry. Have you tried any more moisturizing DTs? VO5 is cheap which is nice, but not very moisturizing. It's a pretty good co-wash for some here. If your hair is dry or porous or both, it may not go very far, as you've noticed. Maybe try something heavier? Like GVP conditioning balm or curl junkie curl rehab. It should go away over time if you get your hair healthier & your protein/moisture balance right.

fine, thin, normal porosity. Non-CG, but I treat it with TLC. I can't co-wash more than 1x a week, & I have to use T-Gel in rotation due to scalp issues.
