OT: Mc Vities Fruit Shortcake

OMG YUM! We just got some from the grocery last week and they are *awesome*!

Just thought I'd share.

"A shortbread biscuit with currants and lightly dusted with sugar."

"McVities Fruit Shortcake is a delicious crumbly shortbread biscuit packed full of currants. The perfect accompaniment to afternoon tea!"

YUM!!!

Wow those look delish. You much be from England?!?
I've never seen such a yum-a-licious cookie here
Nope, I'm in Canada, but Victoria prides itself on it's Britishness. We're named after the Queen, after all, and tea is as popular here as coffee despite our Pacific Northwest location would otherwise suggest. :P

They are super yummy, but admittedly we got these from the British Imports section of the grocery store. You might see if you have any import sections or stores. Chicago ought to have them (you are Chicago, yes?) and if not, I could always try to make a swap worth your while. :P

Man, I should not have tortured myself by reading this thread.

To 'british enthusiasts' living in the states, I know that there are several varieties of cadbury chocolates in regular supermarkets like Safeway across the u.s. (I travel a lot), as well as Weetabix, my favorite cereal pre-celiac disease.
ohh I <3 weetabix

Wavy, if you're going to eat a cookie, take for granted that its fattening, and just enjoy it. It is not really food, but pure entertainment, made solely of sugar, fat, and starch. (really I don't see how they can honestly call a few specks of dried currant "fruit" anyway.)
1.6g fat per biscuit per the package

Just have to be sure not to eat the whole package in one sitting. Then it will be a whole lot more than 1.6g. :P
