Yay for Garnier!

I haven't been around here much lately. I fell out of love with the greasy Sunsilk that made my hair look good once or twice. I've started using Garnier Fructis Curl and Shine leave-in conditioner and SCC over mousse and I'm loving the results. I also picked up a couple of $1 microfiber towels from the check out lane at Wal-Mart. I had been just pulling my hair back every morning or straightening my hair because I just couldn't get my waves to look how I wanted. I never would have tried the Garnier Fructis products if it weren't for this website. I have to add that I think the texture of the SCC can best be described as sticky caramel, like what you'd find in a Snickers or other candy bar, not really something I'd want to put in my hair without being sold on it first.

hahaha! Sticky caramel - you're exactly right!! I've been loving that stuff lately, but am having a hard time forming/keeing a nice wave at the crown. I can get ringlets at the bottom of my hair, but the crown still disturbs me. Oh well, it's a journey. I'm working on making a microfiber hat so I won't have to walk around with a towel on my head. My hair looks so much better if I plop for at least 30 min and I'm tired of driving to work wearing a towel!!

Yes, I recently bought the C&S leave-in and I can tell it's making a difference. Loving it so far. Hopefully my hair won't become "immune" to it over time like some other products!

I also have the SCC but I can't figure out a way to make it work without total stiffness. I don't know if this makes sense, but it seems to weigh the curl down and take it away, not exactly making it straight, but not curly. Anyone else get that "heavy" feeling when using SCC?

What kind of mousse are you using NC_beach_waves?

I absolutely love the curl-shaping spray gel on second-day hair, though.

LostCurls, I've been using Suave Healthy Curls scrunching mousse.

I only use enough SCC to cover one finger tip and then use more if I need it and my hair is always soft and touchable. I also apply the SCC to dry or nearly dry hair.

Just thought I'd update to say that I've been using the Garnier products for a couple weeks and I still love them!

I'm having the best luck with the GF stuff. The past few days, I've been co-washing with VO5 S&C, conditioning with GF SnS, then just using the GF SnS Leave-in Cream as my styler. Sometimes I'll touch up the ends when it's dry with Curls Curly Q Custard or the GF SCC.

Yesterday, I finally ran out of the SnS and grabbed what I thought was the CurlnShine conditioner and it was the shampoo :x ! Although I did have a bottle of the conditioner, I'd accidently bought 2 bottles of shampoo. I've been stocking up as I have lots of GF coupons, so I no longer have the receipt to return them. I guess I'll use it once a week or so and at that rate, 2 bottles will last me a looong time!

Today I ran out of the SnS Leave-in and tomorrow get to try the CurlnShine Leave-in.

I'm pretty much down to GF, Curls and Jessicurl as my best hair products.

I have been using Curls Rock, its a salon product so its alot better for your hair. I like it because it doesn't weigh hair down. I loved it when I had long hair and I love it now with my short hair.

No offense, EmBem, but how exactly are you deriving that Curls Rock is "alot" better for your hair? You cannot assume that salon products are always superior. Price is not unfailingly a true indicator of quality. There are many drugstore products that are wonderful if you know what to look for and many of us who cannot or will not throw away money on over-priced products when there are a plethora of great products available at bargain prices. Many of us use this site to figure out what the gems of the drugstore are so we can waste as little money as possible on our hair and make sure the bills get paid and our children have everything they need. I kind of feel like you're trying to rain on my parade, but I guess you're just too young to know any better. Good luck to you.
