Default I bought Softee coconut oil and have a question

This tub says pure coconut oil so I bought it. When I got home I read the ingredients and here they are:
petrolatum, cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, paraffin, mineral oil, fragrance, BHT.

My question is is there an actual pure coconut oil or is this as close as it gets? I got it in the ethinic isle. I used it but didn't much like it so I thought maybe I bought the wrong product. I was looking for coconut oil.

Is this what you bought?

I don't think that's really coconut oil. It's probably petrolatum with a little bit of the other stuff added. Most people find their real coconut oil in the food/baking section of the store rather than in the hair care aisle.

Buy the coconut oil in the "health food" section of a grocery store or in a health food store or ethnic food store. That will be just plain (or virgin or organic etc.), edible coconut oil.
The one you've got might be great for chapped hands and feet overnight, or to melt and mix with sugar to scrub your skin prior to showering for super-soft, exfoliated skin.

Yep, that's what I bought...oops. I guess I was looking in the wrong place. Thank you!

Is it pretty cheap? Well... Not like soybean oil. Maybe closer to a good olive oil in price. It's not outrageously expensive. But you're only going to use a tiny bit at a time, so it should last a long while.

Ok, so I went to Wal-mart today and couldn't find it anywhere! I don't have a health food store close so I will have to check another grocery store I guess.

I live in the middle of nowhere USA and my walmart doesn't have it, but my grocery store does. I've read some walmarts keep coconut oil by the vitamins and some have it with the cooking oil.

I live pretty close to the middle of nowhere also...LOL. Our Wal-mart is a super store so I figured that would help. I didn't check by the vitamins though. I will check the next time I'm there.
Thanks!

Love your new avi. I didn't know your hair was so long. And being that long, it still has bouncy and pretty curls. Love it.

Thank you so much pedaheh! It has been a major work in progress since straightening the heck out of it! It was still a little crunchy but the best hair day in awhile. That was good since I had a job interview.
I truely wish I could wear my hair shorter like yours. I am jealous that you don't have a fro...LOL. My hair would be awful that short but it works great for you!!!

do you have a health food section in your grocery store? I can always find it there although I prefer to order it from Iherb or Lucky Vitamin by the Tub. It's cheaper and I like to cook with it. Your hair is stunning!

Nope, no health food section. I hate paying for shipping online unless you know some place that is dirt cheap or free shipping? I have never cooked with it...any recipes??

Thank you so much for the compliment!!! I got pretty good second day hair today also (that pic was from yesterday) Who knows what it will look like tomorrow in the wonderful world of curly!!!

My middle of nowhere supermarket sometimes has it in with the regular cooking oils and had it with the popcorn for a while. Not all my supermarkets have it.
Drugstore.com has it. They have free shipping on your first order of 25$. Amazon.com has some with free shipping if you spend 25$
