Default HETT or HESMU

Herbal Essences Totally Twisted or HE Set Me Up. Like them? Hate them?

Please. Discuss.

Hate! TT did nothing for my hair and I think it has a cone in it. SMU was super sticky and gave me a lot of frizz when applying and wasn't hard hold IMO.

HETT didn't have enough hold for me, it didn't do much at all. But it didn't hurt me either, so I'm sort of neutral on that.

Haven't tried HESMU, but I have tried Body Envy, which was a little sticky but otherwise works fairly well. I alternate it with Pantene Curls gel.

Neither were good products for me. The gel was too producty and made my wurls less clumpy. The mousse had a flat, stringy/ frizzy effect. ;(

I like the HETT mousse. I've never tried the gel, though.

I liked the HETT mousse and gel more than HESMU. Fewer ingredients and a nicer smell.

Wow, not much love for either. I'm not a mousse fan (ramen hair) -- does the HETT mousse not do that?

I think the mousse plus the gel helps prevent ramen hair.
Luckily, the products are cheap enough you could try them to see if you like them and not feel bad if you don't. CVS might even allow you to return them--I think they have a return policy on makeup/beauty products you don't like. Not 100% sure.

I tried both of them and the Body Envy and din't like them BUT I was doing a different routine back at that time. My curl analysis said I should use TT so I bought it again but haven't tried it yet. I am hoping it will work this time. BTW, there aren't any cones in it. It smells pretty good and is cheap! I am going to try it today! My analysis said to use the SMU if I was going to use mousse but I don't much like mousse either.

HETT gel didn't have near enough hold for me. Other then that, I have no complaints. I'll use it for when I fix my hair straight until I'm done with the bottle.
HESMU mousse is fine for a mousse. Mousse ultimately dries my hair out, so I can't use it on a regular basis. But I did like gel over mousse before it started giving me issues.

I haven't tried the HESMU but I've pretty good luck with HETT gel so far. At first I wasn't sure about the amount of hold but now I'm using an alcohol-free mousse first then adding the gel and it's working nicely. I love that it's CG, cheap, nice-smelling and easy to get!!!

I use HETT almost every day. I have a zillion other gels crowding up my bathroom that I bought to try out, but I only use them when I'm feeling guilty about wasting them all. I tried HESMU and liked it for a while-but I don't know if I started using it at a weird point in the weather or something, bc after only a couple weeks I really started not liking it. Now I mix in a small bit with HETT now and then - again, really just to use the HESMU up since I'm all but married to HETT these days.

Tried CG for a summer, but it wasn't for me. I don't load up on sulfates and silicones, but I have no shame in using them when I want/need to! Currently loving LOOB.

I used the TT yesterday for the first time in a long time and liked it better now that I SS. It doesn't have a hard hold but it's soft and smells nice. If my hair didn't have the low elasticity problems right now I think it would be even better. I am going to stick with it!

I like Body Envy. It's not a holy grail product for me, but it works well enough, smells good, and is cheap. Been thinking of trying the Pantene one or an Aussie one for volume.

SMU works best for me. I rotate it with BRHG. I need that strong hold or I *poof*. I can mix it with a little CIAB and get great results too, plus it helps with the stickiness of either gel

Yes, they are kind of sticky. I didn't even see the "Body Envy" one. KeLynn, I admire your dedication to using up gels you don't like by diluting them in ones you do like.

Still loving the TT. I have used it 3 times now and it has been working! I think I used to use stuff that was way too heavy because I thought I had coarse hair before the curl genie told me different.

I tried HETT gel once and hated it -- will never be buying it again! EVER! It really did nothing for my hair. It de-clumped me, it gave me stringlets, it just flat-out made my hair look terrible and just crunchy. It really doesn't have a lot of hold at all. I've been debating on whether or not to try the HESMU, but I bought the Garnier Super Stiff Gel instead. I like my hard-hold, protein-free stuff.

I like HE SMU, I layer it over everything now. Runner-up is BE, but i'm not really going to extra lengths to get ahold of it since I can't really find it anywhere.

Wavynwild, the garnier super stiff gel has a butt-load of alcohol denat., so you might want to be careful with it. I tried it and it worked for about a day and then made a dry frizzy mess out of my hair.
