What do you do on bad hair days? (or 'lazy' hair days?)
I have medium length hair and can't figure out what to do. I've been doing cg for about 2 months and my hair is even less reliable than before. Some days it looks great and others it looks terrible. I need suggestions for what to do on bad hair days.
(Some days I can wear a hat, others I can't because of work.)

What are your hair's properties? If you don't know them, LMK and I'll post links on how to figure them out.
What products do you use?
What is your styling routine?
Post that stuff and hopefully we will be able to point you in the right direction and get your hair working for you.

I do a loose bun, a ponytail in the back high or low, or a side pony tail. Sometimes if I have just one piece that looks bad or is straight (or even several pieces) I put little braids there and pin them back. I can't do hats so I have to figure something else out. I also twist the hair and flip it upwards and clip it from underneath...if that makes sense?

I still use Tresemme Fine Mist hairspray for the side swept bangs...I can't live without it!

Thank you for some of the ideas.
I feel like whenever I wear a bun/ponytail my hair sits oddly and looks really thin and blech.
Sorry I forgot to post my hair's properties - It is overly porous, normal elasticity, fine, and medium density.
Right now I'm using giovanni cowash with tresseme naturals conditioner. I've been using tizz no frizz gel. I bought Curls in a Bottle and & anGel which both came in today, so I'm going to see how those work. I usually diffuse it dry because it takes hours to air dry.

Are you doing protein treatments? With fine and porous hair, they should work really well for you.
Do you use an occasional low poo? Most wavies find they need one sometimes.
One more question. What is your hair doing that you don't like? (frizz, flat top, weighed down, etc.)

For bad hair days, I like to use some cute hair accessories I keep on hand. Headbands, clips, etc. work nicely.

I try to keep U-pins handy and I pin it up into a bun.

(according to CurlGenie - HUGE surprise, I always thought I had fine hair and my stylists always agreed)
Tried CG for a summer, but it wasn't for me. I don't load up on sulfates and silicones, but I have no shame in using them when I want/need to! Currently loving LOOB.

I like to throw my hair into a snood and maybe accessorize that with a cute hair flower.

I am not doing protein treatments, mostly because I don't know what to use.
Some days my hair is overly frizzy, others the top layer is completely straight.

I tend to go really casual everyday since I work with kids. If I'm in a hurry I like to rake some leave-in as well as CIAB through my hair, scrunch a bit and do the soft beachy look!

Some CG PTs are nexxus emergencee, joiko k-pac and the sally beauty generic version (has mineral oil, some hair hates mineral oil), Ion effective care (sally beauty, they have trial packets), Aphogee 2-step (sally beauty, 2nd step has mineral oil, you can substitute your own DT), aphogee 2-minute. I'm a fan of IAgirl's gelatin PT. PT recipe - as promised
Follow a PT with a DT or a moisturizing conditioner. After the PT and before the DT your hair may feel hard and rough. A DT will bring your hair back to normal.
Check out this thread to see what other people with fine/porous hair do.
Porous and Fine: Share your Hair Biography
Do a PT as often as needed. It is common for people with fine/porous hair to do a PT about once a week.
