Awkward but nice moment last night

I was at Cheeseburger in Paradise last night for a girl's night out and a woman left her boyfriend at their table to come across the room to tell me how pretty my hair was! That was crazy!!! I was with 4 other women and she chose to compliment me. She came back later and asked to have her picture taken with me. It was odd but also made me feel good! I guess I must be doing something right!!!! Sorry, just had to share!

I'm so glad you're finding something that works for your hair. I've been getting lots of hair complements lately, too, and it feels so nice! One of my friends just told me that I shouldn't have to worry about my hair because it looks perfect all the time and some other people have been telling me what nice CURLS I have! I was so excited. I've been so stressed and frustrated with my hair lately, it was really a surprise. I really do hate my hair sometimes, but complements are so nice. We are all too critical -- of ourselves and of our hair!

I've always imagined you getting tons of complements every time you leave the house. Kinda like "The Girl from Ipanema" but each time she pases they say "Nice Hair!". That is a little weird and akward that woman wanted a picture.

I'm so happy for you too! That's awesome to get compliments like that! We are waaaayyyy too critical, I know. I hate that so much of my confidence depends on how my hair looks. I can get really depressed over it and I hate that. It's nice to be on an upswing.

It was funny, I was at my friend's house the other day and her 11 year old daughter said she wanted my hair and my friend said "oh no you don't. Do you realize what she goes through with all that curly hair? Enjoy your straight hair honey!" She knows how much I complain about my hair, she wasn't being mean or anything. I laughed and agreed.

Wow, that is so sweet Pedaheh!!! Thank you so much! I think the woman wanted a picture so she could take it to her stylist but I don't think her hair could look like mine. Hers was stick straight. I told her mine was natural and a pain in the butt!

Thanks! Suddenly she keeps giving me hair complements all the time -- I love it! It always happens on the days that I HATE my hair, too.

Kinda weird how it always works out like that.

Ha ha! I know, I get in a better mood when my hair looks nice, and in a worse mood when I know it looks terrible. How sad is that?!

That sounds like my sister. She tells me all the time that she wishes she has curly hair and really likes mine, but her hair is straight, and any time we try to get her hair to curl, it falls out in half an hour. Her hair ALWAYS looks good, though, so she has no right to complain.

Compliments are the biggest confidence boost! Haha I used to curl my hair (so shameful... I know) and one day at lunch it was in a ponytail kind of messy and I only curled the front bits and let them hang down. I was sitting in the cafeteria of my school and a whole table of seniors we're staring at me and talking, and they kept looking back at me and I was so paranoid. But one girl came over to me and said, "Sorry if we creeped you out for staring... but you have the prettiest hair we've ever seen." And I thought she was talking to my friend! Hahah and then I was like "Oh my gosh thank you! That means so much!". It made my week!

But I haven't curled it since I've been on CG (for 5 weeks) and I'm really bummed because it's not curly its just limp

But honestly I love getting compliments! (and giving them, because I know how great it feels!)

Swell28, that's an awesome compliment! I would have been very upset at first when I thought they were laughing at me.
I also try to give lots of compliments to other girls/women because I know it feels good.
I just had a friend who has super curl hair compliment mine and say she wished she had my hair. I asked her if she was crazy because her hair is curly and beautiful?? She said "mines just a poofball". We never see what other people see!
