After all this time on nc.com I realized...
I'm a 2C not a 3A. Del2C and other 2C's - hello! It's because of the ad that nc.com sent - I read Andre Walker's description. My hair curls in an S pattern - not chalk size curls. There might be a few 3A curls in the back.
Live and learn! I'll be stalking the 2 board now.

Hi! I know what you mean. However, I always thought I was a 2a/2b. Turns out I am a 2c, (Although I wish I was a 3a) After I got over that frustration, they reformulated/discontinued many of my products. But (hopefully) I think I found a good combo for now.

Didn't see the ad... "Chalk size curls" as in the curls are supposed to be the diameter of a piece of chalk from school? Well, dang, I'm nowhere near a 3A in most places then.... mine are spirals though, not S shaped... now i'm just confused lol

Hi Mims TX. I wish I had spirals. I've always loved that look!
I'm not sure - I think spirals are a 3 type. Meanwhile, if they just had a type labeled "messy" that would be me!
I'm not 100% sure I'm a 2C - I went back and looked at the pictures and now I'm confused again.

I thought I was a 2c/3a but I'm not so sure. The whole scale confuses me. I think I am just a "Cindy" pattern (my name )

I think they meant sidewalk chalk size..
I also recently discovered that I am a 2c. A lot of people are 2c/3a from what I have noticed but I read somewhere that by definition, a 2c has some 3a spirals thrown in. I know that fits my hair pretty well. Then again, there are days that I have mostly spirals rather (I heart my diffuser!) than s-shaped, they are so loose though, they aren't big loopy curls... GAHH I hate curl typing systems!! I am glad it's not actually important!

I think I'm still a 2.
I get confused.
cp, it's too much to worry about. Besides, strangers stop to tell you you have gorgeous hair. I think that whatever you're doing, it's working.

I love sidewalk chalk.
Husband calls my hair "twisty."
An apt description.
All waves are awesome, spirals, loose waves, curly waves, waves with straight underlayers or curly underlayers, a mixed-up head of waves and curls.

Mine looks curly when styled, nice big bouncy curls, and there's a patch of actual tighter curls at the crown but I stand by 2C as my hair type, because unstyled it is closer to wavy overall (well closer to ball o'frizz actually, but not nice and spirally) and because there is a straight layer underneath to offset the curls at the crown so I think the average is 2C.
So I think of loose-curls-when-styled-but-looser-when-unstyled as 2C and since you posted about the GORGEOUS comment yesterday, really want you on our "team"!

What a great reception! I think in a few months I'll pretend I have one of the other hair types and join another forum just to get the love.

Well, after almost 2 years of CG I can safely conclude that my hair actually majority loose spirals (maybe I should change my user name...) But... the 2 board is more fun! Most of my posts are to the 2 board it seems. Woo!
