Your favorite products for those with weak wave patterns?

When my hair is shoulder length or longer, it is very wavy with big fat spirals mixed in...but at shorter lengths it is considerably less wavy. In fact, I think it just looks messy at this point -- my waves tend to not really get going until past my ears, but since they are not very long they just want to turn into hair horns and look messy.

So what are your favorite products for boosting curl? My hair is very fine but very dense; it likes protein; and is prone to frizz.

How do you deal with a weak wave pattern?

I like SS CEJ. I recently bought Aveda Be Curly Curl Enhancer and have liked it a lot the last few days. It's pricey, but gives me nice, soft curls. You might try homemade FSG with epsom salts added. If I decide not to continue with the Aveda product, I will probably make a simple batch of FSG with only epsom salts and some jojoba oil. I was experimenting with a lot of add-ins and got frustrated. I'm thinking simple is better.

Seriously, epsom salt is incredible! I never noticed a huge difference with adding it to FSG but today I mixed up a little potion and I have a head full of ringlets! I don't know if you can tell from my avi but usually I have loose spirals/waves that's turn into ringlets at the very end. I mixed water, magnesium sulphate and conditioner in a spray bottle and just spritzed it on after my LI then applied mousse. I don't usually use mousse, I was doing a little volume experiment. I hope it works just as well with gel! I am guessing the salt could be pretty drying but no signs of that after one day. I highly recommend experimenting with some.
Can you post the amounts of each you use in your salt combination. I need something to spark up my curls.

Honestly, I wasn't being very scientific about it. I boiled up some water. Put 1/4 t (it might have been 1/2 ) mag in a spray bottle then poured in the water. Unfortunately, I didn't really think to measure how much I was pouring in and the bottle shrivelled up because of the heat. lol! So maybe 1/2 c? But I really have no clue... Then I added probably a T of YTC condish and gave it a good shake. I know not everyone tolerates magnesium so start off with less and build up. From my FSG experiments, I knew my hair was fine with it, that's why I put in that much. And honestly, I *was* planning on putting more water... Anyway, if you do try, please report back! I will be tweaking my recipe and I promise, next time I will measure stuff.
In summer I like to mix FSG with ecostyler as a curl enhancer. BRHG over the top. I usually add it using the smasters method. Definitely try the smasters method if you haven't. I pixie when I and smasters. by the way, Smasters is currently growing out her henna.
I'm a big fan of IAgirl's gelatin PT.
