They are VERY different.
AnGel gives me crazy good volume but the castor oil and glycerin build up and give me a dry but greasy feel and look after a couple of uses.
BRHG is to be used lightly typically over something else. Unless I put something under it, I cannot get it scrunched out and my hair is, well, rock hard like it says! It is definitely a staple for me but a little goes a long way or I get weighed down.

I have only used Angel once (Hairdresser scrunched it all through my hair) and it felt so gross to me. I felt like it took two washes (one low poo and one sulfate) to get it all out. BRHG...I had success with this in the winter over a curl cream, didn't build up at all...But lately it seems to heavy for my hair.
Are you thinking of any other gels? LA Looks is popular around here...I also really like CJ CQ...

ArcAngel I like a lot, it's waterey and spreads out through the hair, has medium hold, smells good. It's slippery more than grabby.
BRHG I usually mix some of this in with the ArcAngel if I need better hold that day. Used alone in the quantity I need to cover all the hair evenly it makes the tupperhair, really very hard. It's sticky/grabby not slippery. It doesn't smell good but once dry no smell at all so no big deal.
Some people are able to get a little bit of the BRHG to distribute all the way through their hair and they have better results.
I like to use a lot of gel so I do better with the ArcAngel.

If you don't like a producty feel, BRHG may not be for you. Personally, I don't give a hoot about producty feel, but I don't think people who do like this gel.
It is the hardest gel there is. I don't think anyone's ever found one stronger.

I've never tried Angel but occasionally ArcAngel works for me. It's not consistent enough for me to use it frequently or buy another bottle of it. However, I LOVE BRHG! I would definitely pick some of that up and experiment with it. You can find it in a lot of stores like Target, CVS, Walgreens, etc. and if you don't like it I'm sure someone will scoop it up from the swap board.
