How would this haircut look? (pics)
I'm seventeen, and I believe I have type 2 hair. It depends on the day and the length of my hair. My hair was pin straight all through elementary school. Beginning in 7th grade I shampooed, conditioned, blow dried on high, and straightened my hair every other day. I finally stopped in 10th grade (last year) only to realize that my hair was curly. My mom has REALLY curly hair. Mine isn't as curly. It's straight (or slightly wavy) on my scalp and starts getting curly at about chin length.
I never really style it. I use Tresemme Naturals shampoo and conditioner because they supposedly don't have silicone. My hair is a little past my shoulders without any layers, but it is really thin. (Pulled back in a ponytail, even when curly, it would be less than an inch thick).
Lately, I've wanted to cut it short for summer, but I wanted an actual style. I've wanted a really edgy style because it would match my personality.
The other day I saw a hairstyle I really liked in the movie Scott Pilgrim. The character, Ramona flowers, has a haircut that I absolutely love.

I especially like that last one ^^
However, my hair is slightly curly, and I don't know how it would look. Whenever I've cut my hair short, it seems like it never curls much on my scalp, so I think I might be able to pull this look off!
This is how my hair looks (second day). I dyed my hair black with semi-permanent dye, so it's a really dark brown now. My natural hair is a lighter, redder brown.
My icon should be a picture from when my hair was shorter (and dyed bright red). My hair was frizzier in that picture because I didn't use any product on that day.
So, my questions are:
A) Is my hair really type 2 judging from that picture?
B) Do you think I would be able to get my hair cut in an a-line bob like the pictures above?
C) Has anyone with similar hair, cut their hair like this? How did it look?
Any comments are appreciated!

I too adore her hair in that movie.
Since your wave starts farther down, you could probably get a cut like that and it would look similar since you'd be cutting off most of the wave/curl. Her hair looks pretty damaged in those photos (maybe from dying it?) so it's hard to tell how wavy or straight her hair is naturally.
Do you know your hair type? People with thick density/coarse texture are usually advised not to cut their hair too short.

My hair is very soft and thin. It's really easy straighten or blow dry straight. It's very easy to tame and keep from being frizzy.
Also, I know that the actress used several different wigs for the movie.

Ok, then your hair would probably be just fine with the cut.
I'd be nervous modeling my cut after a wig. But that's just me.

I'm not worried about it being a wig because I know someone else who cut her hair like this.

This is one of my absolute favorite movies and I love Ramona's hair!!! My only suggestion would be to do a consultation with your stylist before you do the cut to make sure it will work with your hair. Post pics if you do it!!!

I think the cut is adorable. I had a similar, but different cut a while back. Here are some old random pics, in case it helps. I have much more root curl then the average wavy. Odds are that yours won't be this curly. My hair is thin, but no so thin it causes issues for me. It seems thicker when it is cut blunt-ish and short. My guess is the cut would work for you. But I agree that you should go in and ask your stylist first. The bangs may/may not work for your face shape. Bangs won't work for my my face at all. I hope it will work, because I think it is a great cut.

Edit: I should add that I cut my own hair, so any bad thing you see may be because of the DIY aspect, and not the style itself.

I've been obsessing over Ramona's hair lately as well and was thinking about getting it cut like that...unfortunately I think my hair is too thick, but yours seems fine.
Here's another edgy, sort of similar style I was considering, just for inspiration:
Graduated Below Chin A Line Bob Haircut
And do post pics if you go forward with it, I'd love to see!
