Not sure how to style hair...(pics)

Hi! I'm very new to all this.... I'm pretty sure my hair is in the 2 area... when I comb or brush through my wet hair and let it air-dry it becomes frizzy with unattractive waves :P when I don't comb through my wet hair at all and let it air-dry it becomes wavy with random perfect spirals (mostly in front of my ears). When I use scrunching hair products it really brings out my curly waves but leaves my hair crunchy which I don't like. How do you think I should style my hair (and what products to use that are affordable)? In the pics I posted I used the very cheap Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Curl Scrunching Gel....

Crunch is an easy problem to solve. You wait until your hair is 100% dry and then scrunch out the crunch (SOTC).

I'm with Peda - crunch is easy to solve.

As far as products that might be good for your hair, have you figured out your hair properties? Is it fine (individual strands are thin), or average, or coarse? Is it really porous, or hardly porous at all, or somewhere in the middle?

Also, Peda, I'm super honored that I've made a guest appearance in your siggie!

Hey.....This is off topic but....how do you post new threads?? I just registered and I'm really confused.
JW13, at the top of the "2" forum, right above where the threads start, there should be a pink button that says "+ New Topic." That will start a new thread in this forum.

One of my staple products is La Bella Sports Gel. I bought it at Target at 1.99 for 20 oz.!!!! It's a huge bottle that I've been using since March or April and I've hardly made a dent in it!!
