Heat protectant sprays--suggestions?

Hi everyone! I just recently started the CG method and I'm still trying to navigate my way through the minefield of drugstore hair products.

I usually use a diffuser on my hair after I wash it and I'd like to use a heat protectant spray to minimize damage. The diffuser isn't anything crazy--maybe five to seven minutes on the medium setting. My hair isn't dry when I'm done, but getting the excess water out does help to keep my curl from getting stretched out while it dries. It's not like I need something crazy heavy duty.

My big problem is that most drugstore heat protectant sprays or products (in the $5-10 category I can afford) use silicones, like Tresemme Heat Tamer and the like. I'm alright with water soluble silicones, but I don't want to use anything that will build up on my hair.

Does anyone have any heat protectant products they have used and liked? I'd really appreciate any and all suggestions!

Thanks so much!!
how about Fx Wild Harvest Hair Flat Iron Thermal Spray Bamboo...... the ingredients are Aqua , SD Alcohol 40 , PEG-12 Dimethicone , Glycerin , Polysorbate 20 , Polyquaternium-6 , Polyquaternium-11 , Bambusa Vulgaris (Bamboo Extract) , Panthenol , Parfum , Diazolidinyl Urea , Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate , Citric Acid

its 7 dollars for 6 ounces at walgreens good luck
Personally I wouldn't (don't) bother with a heat protectant with medium heat and 7-10 minute blow dry.

Question 3 in this link says you can probably skip it.

Why you may not want to use a heat protectant with drying alcohol.

I use the tresseme one when I use a curling iron every couple months. It has the a-cone which is easy to remove with a low poo.

Pedaheh, do you have any other suggestions for reading about alcohol in hair products? I'd like to find an alcohol-free hairspray, but nothing works as well as the alcohol hairsprays I have.

I use the ion hairspray too and for me it is fine, nothing special.
Alcohol makes hairspray dry quickly. The quick drying is what most people like about hairspray to begin with. Non alcohol hairspray will not be what you are used to. Works fine for spraying and updo. But if you want to spray the crown for volume, you will have to hold the hair up much longer or blow the hairspray dry with a dryer.
