Been traveling a lot for work this summer so haven't had a chance to try this yet, but look forward to it when I get back home. And For what it's worth, I freeze my FSG in ice cube trays, then put them in a plastic bag & just grab a couple as needed!

I use it alone - there's enough in there for me.
Anybody else?

Tried it. Loved it!! I think it will be especially great for traveling or the pool or gym bag so I only have to carry one bottle instead of three. At home I like to vary the amount of leave in and FSG i use depending on how dry my hair is that day, or the weather/dewpoint. But great potential and gave awesome clumps and frizz control!!

Okay, I tried this and it was too much. I think that the conditioner is what made me not like it. Not enough hold or crunch. I will take what I made and add my of the 2 gels and see if it's better. I also used the oka gel instead of flax seed, don't know if that would make much difference.

I'd stick with FSG for the slippery plant-based gel component, if it has some thickener - that much the better. Some things in any recipe are difficult to substitute.
You might use less conditioner and it needs to be a thick conditioner, not a runny one (don't know what you used).
When it's all mixed up, the cream should have a very thick, slightly rubbery (thanks to the FSG) feel. It's thicker than FSG, stickier than FSG.
Maybe that helps. I don't make okra gel so I can't comment about that. I'm not a frequent curl-cream user, but I think that many people use them with a gel or something else for extra hold, using them alone is probably medium-hold.

I am definitely liking this! I've used it 3 or 4 times. The first I used almost the whole tube (abot 2.5oz) which was too much but the other times I used about 2 half dollar sized dollops. I made it with the rinse out condish I mixed up and love but it was a little too much. I think next time I'll try it with GDLI and see. I suspect this is going to be a winter HG for me.
For the gel I tried HETT the first batch and Mirra sculpting the second batch. If anything this is one way to use up the gel that doesn't make the final hold cut!

Instead of dumping the last batch that was a little too much I used it as a rinse out. It'll be dry in about an hour. I'll post with results then.

To make my fsg cream, I just mixed fsg and Shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie together. I used it on my flat twists Sunday night.

Long-time lurker here. I made some of this with my last little bit of my current batch of FSG. I added about a teaspoon of agave nectar to the entire batch when I made it, so I didn't add additional to the cream. I used Nature's Gate Pomegranate Sunflower conditioner which is very thick, and some of my very old bottle of Biolage Gelee (before the formulation change a few years ago - yes, the gel is fine). I didn't add additional oil, since there is some in the conditioner. This results in a single product solution for me! I get a little bit of crunch in the AM, but it scrunches out easily.
Thank you, thank you for your experiments and sharing them with us!

Sorry I'm bringing this thread back from the dead. I just have to say thank you IAgirl. I made this and have been so happy with the results. I rake a good handful through my hair while it is wet and before I plop. I plop for 30min or so and do a super quick diffuse and somehow I get the most flattering wurls. I have issues with my hair getting huge after drying but with this it gives me the perfect amount of weight and body combination. The other thing I notice is that I can pull of second day wavey/wurls. Amazing stuff. I don't understand why this combo of ingredients works.. but it does!!!
Also I experimented and squeezed a little bit of a vitamin E capsule into the mixture and I think it has helped it stay longer. BTW I am interseted in any other tips that you guys have for preserving this.
I'm finally starting to love my wurls a lot more now because of this!!
I uploaded a pic of my results after my hair air dried and I've been out all evening.

That looks really great - just look at those wurls! Lovely, lovely.
What do you use for the "gel" part and the "conditioner" part of the recipe?
Way to DIY!!!

Thanks IAGirl
I used the Garnier fructis pure clean gel and tressume naturals vibrantly smooth conditioner.
The other day I used the Loreal EverSleek conditioner with it but I didn't like the results as much. That condish works great on its own though.

I'll try it today (cooler weather but not cold)...
Edit: I thought "more gel perhaps?"
I tried more gel, but it's a little too stiff in the end for me. I like a medium hold.

Love this IAgirl! I didn't make my own fsg since I still have a lot of DM Gelly. I mixed it with Lustrasilk olive oil & Chi infra gel. Topped off with a bit of brhg & got a nice mix of weight, definition & hold.
