FSG Curl Cream!
I think I have a new winner in the quest for more junk to add to (or actually do with)FSG!
((Ducks so I won't get hit with whatever Pedaheh has handy to throw at me))
When I get it "right" I'll post the recipe on my blog so it has a "home" with the PT recipe, because I'm going to try some variations. What you have at home may vary, but here are the basics:
1 tablespoon thick, rich conditioner (if it doesn't have any oil in it, add 3-4 drops of canola oil or whatever you like) - maybe a bit less conditioner for the fine-haired
2 tablespoons flaxseed gel (mine currently has protein in it)
1 tablespoon strong hold gel
4 drops honey or agave nectar (or 1/8 tsp or a bit more) - for hold
Mix well, apply fairly liberally (probably skip any leave-in) and do your styling thing.
Clumps? Check!
Root curl? Check!
Curl enhancing? Boing!
Volume? Surprisingly, check!

Hmm, I thought about BHRG, although that's super-strong hold and I don't have any. I used a gel closer to the LA Looks in hold - which to me is pretty strong hold, but not for everybody.
I guess if it registers as "strong hold" in your book, use it. You can always use more honey or agave nectar for more hold, that's why it's in there.

I think I might have to hit you with something, too, IAgirl! I both love you and hate you right now!! Of course I'm gonna have to try this! That sounds REALLY AWESOME!! I always wanted to make a homemade curl cream, too. Yay!! I am so trying this. I'm washing my hair tomorrow, so I should totally use it then. But then my hair might turn out bad for church on Sunday...decisions, decisions!

I'm so trying this! Great idea IA, I was playing with the idea of adding brhg to my FSG to try, your recipe looks great. Btw what's your blog? I'm on my phone and can't see siggies, and I'm curious about your other recipes.
Sent from my iPhone, please excuse typos.

Blog: science-y hair blog
This curl cream refreshes pretty well, gals. I just fixed my hair, then went out into my big garden to work with a scarf tied around my head. It was MASHED, but I sprayed water on it, scrunched, (clipped the top/front) and it is looking mostly like it did before.
I really like this stuff!

This totally cracked me up.
I will be adding this to my to try list. I think this may work better for me in winter, because it sounds like too much moisture for me now. (I'm shocked I'm saying "too much moisture" too)
To make everyone's experimental plans even more complicated, I've been playing around with FSPaste the last few days. *ducks to avoid additional flying objects* I added what would amount to 1 tsp xanthan gum to a 1c batch. IDK exactly what I think of it yet. It does add hold without crunch. In fact it dries almost crunch free. Unlike FSG, you can use too much. It is sort of a gummy molding paste. When I form an actual opinion, I'll start a thread. I used FSP in my avi pic.
I'm lovin' your blog IAgirl.

Thanks, Pedaheh. I'm looking forward to the FSPaste. Gummy molding paste sounds like fun. If it didn't work on hair, one could always play with it (squeeze it through the fingers) for stress relief.

Woo Hoo! More hair goo experiments!
Since I just made a mega batch of my regular FSG, I tried mixing FSG with SMCES in my hand for smasters the other day. I'm proud to say it worked really well. I got my first ever "Is that your natural curl?"
