Default spin off: What is your make-up style?

So, we've been discussing make-up in the "what did you do to your hair today" thread. What is your make-up style? Never wear it, tinted moisturizer and lip balm, wear it on special occasions, enhance your natural beauty, play up your lips, play up your eyes, love it all...

I'm a make-up girl. I love lots of it, every day. I wear it different every day. Some days I play up lips, some days I play up eyes. On a rare occasion I do "enhance my natural beauty" make-up, but on most days I have more going on. Putting on make-up is my favorite part of my day. It gives me a daily opportunity to be creative. This goes double since I've been CG and my hair is pretty much the same every day. I used to do my hair 4-5 different ways in a week. I wish I had some mad make-up skills, but I just do my best with my limited ability.

I use Mary kay tinted lip balm every day, but I only wear make-up on Sunday's and dates. I never really learned and my mom never wore much either. I hear I have long lashes and that I should use mascara every day... But I don't want to. I have brown hair, you can see them well enough.

I used to wear makeup everyday a few years ago. I had drag queen friends so I was their "doll" and they made me up a lot. Sometimes (ok most of the time) it was too much, but they learned how to tone it down for me. I learned how to apply my makeup, but now I wear mostly just eye makeup and gloss and maybe a little foundation on special events. Makeup can get expensive . Depending on what I wear or where I'm going, or my mood, I'll go for a natural eye or a sexy smokey eye. I like experimenting and playing around with it.

Cool!
I'm a "I hate makeup" person. But if I'm out trying to make a good impression, I go for "It's there but you can't really tell." It's a compromise. People think differently of you if you show up looking like you're made a special effort to look good for them. My ideal is that they can't be sure whether I have styling junk in my hair or makeup on my face.
In a former life, I was on stage and learned to do crazy stage makeup, false eyelashes, false noses...
At work I'm with very few people, so day-to-day there's nobody to impress. Most people I know are suspicious of "too much makeup."

Pedaheh - changing my makeup or hair daily would make me a nervous wreck - how do you do it?

If it's an average day with nothing special about it I won't wear makeup, unless my skin is looking bad and then I'll just wear some foundation.

On semi important days like family reunions or barbecues or seeing friends I haven't seen in months, then I'll apply foundation and a bit of eyeliner.

Now on FANCEH days- dances, holidays, parties- I'll opt for a smoky eye, or equally dramatic eyeshadow look. I almost never decide to enhance my lips idk why

I am most definately a make up girl! I love all of it. I love putting it on every day and have fun doing it. My eyes are what I like the most about myself physically and I love to play them up and make them stand out. They are hazel and I can bring out different colors in them depending on what color eye shadow I wear. I wear my make up different everyday. People ask me at work sometimes why I look different every time they see me. It is fun to change things up. What I wear the least of is lipstick. I own plenty but don't wear any most of the time. But I'm a lip gloss addict and I am never ever without it whether I'm wearing lip stick or not!

I almost always wear makeup. If I'm having a 'no makeup' day, I'll still do undereye concealer, blush, at least.

If im going out, and that includes just to dinner or the movies, it's spot foundation as concealer, lots of blush for color, eyeliner, several coats of mascara, and occasionally eye shadow. But I don't really look o ER made up.

I never do lips. It always makes me look too makeup-y.

Using my iphone. Expect typos.

Before my hair turned wavy, I spent all my time on makeup! Now...all my time is taken up with hair!
I do makeup every day (I work outside the home) that I will be out. Days like today (holiday), NO makeup!

I am a MAC girl and I rock a smokey eye every time. Not Jerseylicious smokey eye, but smokey none-the-less.

Face is Studio Fix powder makeup and blush. Eyes are browns and grays. Since I am so sensitive, I can only do matte colors on my eyes which limits me. I love makeup brushes.

My mother wears no makeup and I was not allowed to wear makeup until I was older so I learned from others. My mother REGULARLY tells me that I wear too much makeup, how much prettier I am without makeup, etc. I am almost 47 and she is almost 80. Some things never change! haha!

Marlena, makeupgeek.com, is a great teacher. She has some great basic videos and some adventurous stuff as well.

I LOVE watching make up tutorials and she is my favorite! I have a few of the Urban Decay book of shadows and I have fun looking up eye shadow tutorials for the ones that I have. Another good one that I like is gossmakeupartist on youtube. He's a guy makeup artist and very good with it. Oh, and he is very nice to look at too! lol!

I'm definitely a no make-up girl! I do care about having a good skin care routine though: wash, eye cream, skin moisturizer and sunblock.

Otherwise I might wear a powder about 5x/yr that helps with shininess. I sweat a fair amount from working out almost daily and chasing after kids. I never really learned how to do my eyes (no double lid) and tbh the rest I don't really care about!

I'm a make up girl I love make up and collect alot of mac makeup and nars. I nearly never go out without makeup on just because I like it and it makes me look a little more alive..my regular make up consists offff foundation (where needed) blusher, liquid eyeliner (in little cat eye flicks), mascar, White eyeshadow used as powder and to hilight eyebrows and a little lipgloss...alot of the time you can see me with red or fushia lipstick on too I like to have fun with my makeup!

I adore makeup (I'm an esthetician and have worked as a makeup artist on a small scale) and could spend hours playing and looking at it. But I wear a very small amount on a regular basis. One, I don't get out much and two, I'm so young looking and fair skinned, that heavy makeup looks really weird on me.

If I don't wear make-up, folks ask if I'm sick! I wear it whenever I leave the house. Bare Essentuals mineral foundation, blush and powder, a little bit of eyeliner and mascera. Lipgloss -- I start out with it, but it disappears during the day and I don't always remember to reapply.

I am a no-makeup gal, too. I just don't like it. I don't like feeling makeup on my skin. I guess it's like the feeling of product in your hair. I didn't really like it until I got used to it. I'm sure I'd get used to the makeup feel, too, but I just don't care to get used to it. I like the look and feel of being natural on me. Occasionally, I wear one of those little Burt's Bees tinted lip shimmer (or whatever it's called). It gives my lips a little color and shine, which is nice occasionally. I think I like it more for the tingly feeling it gives my lips from the peppermint.

Well, I like make-up. I mean I recently spent $800 on a full Bare Minerals kit. But honestly don't wear it daily. I mean I rarely leave my house so what's the point? When I do it's to go to the store, and who is looking at me in the store? But if I do have somewhere to go, I wear make-up! I tend to look sick if not, cause well, I am. Lol. I match my make up look to the occasion. Usually natural looking though. My husband has issues with too much, and it's easy to cross into what he considers too much.

I love makeup so much I started sellin' the Avon about 7 years ago, and mostly use their stuff, it's good.

But as I get older I do find that less makeup is a more attractive look, I can't rock the liquid eyeliner and loud eyeshadow colors anymore. So really I do always wear makeup to work but it's subtle.

Foundation, always, 'cause I have issues with high SPF lotions and foundation adds a physical sun block.

Eye shadow applied with fingers usually, sort of a transparent wash of a dark color, black, purple, brown, green, one of the bruise colors, LOL, they seem to be the most flattering.

Mascara always! I am a Top Seller of mascara, apparently, even though I don't do that much business w the Avon. Love their mascara. And in the immortal words of ms. Deirdre Downs, Miss America 2005 "you can never have too much mascara"- she was making a joke backstage, the camera came close and she looked at it and said "oh no, too much mascara!!" then laughed and said the words we live by in the south.

Eyeliner or just some of the shadow applied with a little brush.

Lip gloss or lipstick when I remember....maybe half the time?

Weekends I tend to follow the Mascara and Lip Gloss Rule - I had a friend whose boyfriend's standard for "pretty" was if you looked good with only mascara and lip gloss, LOL. I try to look good with only mascara and lip gloss if going out on weekend, daytime, though will sometimes mix some foundation in the face lotion or use concealer under eyes.

Whew that got long so in short:

Workdays full makeup but subtle
Weekends lip gloss and mascara usually.

my southern grandma says "A little powder & paint will make ya what ya aint" shes in her 70s and wont leave home without lipstick.

ive gone through both ways, loving make up and hating it to both extremes. in my teen years i did the tons of liner on my eyes, super dark lip liner and even shaved and drawn in eyebrows lol! now most days im clean faced, just no urge to paint my face.but when i do my eyebrows are natural now and ill fill them in a bit and use gray/blk/white shadow with a winged out blk liner and mascara,no blush and only balm or gloss on my lips.

ive gotta say though i love the style of bright colors on the eyes jus doesnt seem to fit my fair skinned face well.

What - no glitter? Anybody?

Anyone heard of the lipstick index? Related to economics. I remember reading in the last recession that lipstick and moisturizer are the sacred cows of the economy.
