My hair is very similar, although I haven't figured out whether my frizz is just the way it is or due to the thinning scissors the stylist used on me before I went CG.
I'm 3 months in now with mod-CG, and my frizz is only doing a little bit better. But the best success I've had has been with a method, not a product--the Spritz & Condish method. You can look it up in the general curly hair forum, or I can give you more info if you like.
I've also started to suspect that my frizz is partly due to the constant high dew points we've been having. Whenever I have a particularly non-frizzy day, it's always been a low-dew day.
I have taken to calming frizz with a touch of Deva Set up and Above in wet hands or a spritz of Wonder Waves by FRuctis. Usually helps a little bit.
