waxy, lackluster hair

So, I'm on my 3rd day of a modified CG method. My curl formation is great today without any frizz, but the texture of my hair seems a little off. When I feel my dried hair, it feels waxy, almost is if there is buildup, possibly from over conditioning? However, my hair has zero shine and has a very matte appearance, making me think that I might need more conditioner? I have been alternating between low-poo/no poo and have been conditioning (no cones) liberally. After showering, I apply -cone free gel and a light layer of curl cream (cone free). I am using no sulphates either.

Any suggestions, or are these just the kinks of the first couple of days?
It could definitely be the adjustment of the first few days or it could also be that there are hidden ingredients in what you're using that are building up. There are other ingredients that cause buildup on me that don't on others. It could also be your water if you live in an area of hard water.

I would suggest a clarifying wash with a sulfate one more time. I still have to clarify occasionally.

Since you describe it as waxy, I'd suggest a ACV rinse. ACV can remove waxy build up. Jojoba (technically a wax) build up for me once and a ACV rinse removed it. If that doesn't work, always listen to Rymorg.

Cowash: Tresemme naturals
Rinse out/leave in: Renpure Organics (red)
Curl enhancer: FSG
Gel: BRHG, Salon care aloe, Ecostyler Krystal (normal dews)
PT: ION effective care, IAgirl's gelatin PT
Low Poo: renpure (red), Ion swimmers
I combed over the ingredients listings, and I'm positive there are no cones. However, I did realize after re-reading some articles that I never did a final sulfate wash (!). I plan on doing that tonight. However, do you think you could elaborate on this ACV rinse? Like what exactly you do/how long to leave it in, etc.

Thanks!

1. Get a squirt bottle
2. Add ACV (I use organic ACV) and water, usually in my case I do a 1:10 ratio....1 oz ACV 10 oz water. Sometimes I'll do 1:8 but 1:10 is more normal.
3. Pour over hair after cleansing and massage in. I usually leave it in a few mins then rinse the heck out of it.

This will close the cuticle and remove SOME buildup like waxy buildup such as jojoba oil but NOT CONES. It's not a clarifying treatment like a shampoo is. If you haven't done a sulfate shampoo I'd do that first to remove any cones and buildup you have on your hair for a fresh start.

My hair gets dull from too much conditioner (like cowashing), from glycerin in some styling products (if there's a lot of it).

The "matte, waxy" thing could be the gel + curl cream. "Matte" hair always tells me that there's something on there that I'd be better off without!
