to bang, or not to bang?

... and not in the creepy way. :P

I need your advice! I'm sure this is a popular/constantly asked question. But. Could all of you lovely wavies please give me some advice? I'm really considering getting blunt bangs a la Zooey Deschanel (of course, haha). Do you think they would flatter my face shape?

I know that they would lay straight, because my hair is not curly until chin level. Even if I get some weird flippies, I'm sure they'll be easy enough to manage. I'm not really worried about the styling aspect. I'm more concerned about the visual aspect... I'm 18 years old, would they make me look too young? I don't THINK they would. But. Just curious. Also, more importantly, would they legitimately look good? Haha. I don't have a terribly round face. Just slightly. But it seems to be getting thinner and more heart shaped or oval face as I lose weight, so also not really a concern!

Please let me know your opinions

I think you could make it work! I say this because it looks little you have little to no curl near your scalp which makes it easier for bangs to lie the way they're supposed To and look good!
I personally wanted bangs really bad but one I got them I hated them! Then again I've got this weird cowlick along my hairline- if you have any such thing you should avoid bangs too because it makes it impossible for your bangs to lay correctly!
But I say go for it! You may end up loving it or if you don't you can just grow it out

Also be careful don't get them blunt! Zooey deschanels bangs get a little bit longer at the sides actually and it's a much more flattering bang :3

Thanks a bunch for the advice! Yeah, I have absolutely no root curl at all, which is why I think this might look good! Zooey's hair is the same way -- straight until chin length-ish -- so I think mine would end up similar. And thanks for the suggestion of the more curved bang. I definitely like the sound of that much better, and I never would have thought of it!

I think it would look cute but I am a bang lover. I don't know if you should go for true blunt bangs like this:

I think they might be tough to style without a flat iron, plus they would grow too long in a couple of weeks. I think true blunt bangs either make the person look very severe or rather childlike.

How about a more wispy bluntish bang like this?

Can I just say for the record that I am OVER sideswept bangs? I feel like that style is just so played out at this point. I think you should try to stand out with a different style of bangs!
Sort of CG sometimes, but not really

I think you'd look ADORABLE with Zooey's bangs! Take a pic of her with you to the salon and have them copy it.
