I can't believe how much better my hair seems to look over the last few weeks. The first pic is a new one (last week), the second one is from early summer, before I "officially" went CG (I would have had my hair styled with all Deva product and diffused).

Wavywoods and Mec1976- you both have gorgeous hair!

I'm finding very little variation in my hair as long as I use LI, curl cream and gel. I co-wash when I can and low-poo about twice a week. Loving Re:coil and Curl Keeper right now. I was doing really well with CJPP mixed with a drop of BRHG, but I found that I can do SMasters technique when I use Biotera gel instead. I apply everything to nearly sopping wet hair and use my hands to scrunch/squeeze out extra water, then plop for 10-15 minutes. If I have time I diffuse, otherwise I air dry. And I do a PT and DT once a week. I found that the moment my hair started cooperating was when I started using IAgirl's PT recipe.

My hair freaked when I tried the Joico PT, but did better with natural protein (mayo, egg yolks, & coconut oil). I might just have to try IAgirl's recipe since it seems pretty natural

Have you tried the Biotera curl Creme? I'm using that right now bit wondered how it compared to AG Recoil.

I just picked up the Biotera Curl cream last week after reading all the rave reviews. I like it, and would use it, but I do like the Re:coil better.

I have just joined, but can't say I am "new" to the site! ALL of this info has been extremely useful! Mec1976, your hair looks beautiful and I am excited because my hair seems to be on its way to look like yours! What is your routine?

Wavywoods I just love how your hair has changed since the cut! My ends definitely need a trim and I have a feeling that once I get them cleaned up, they will (fingers crossed) bounce up just like yours! What kind of cut did you ask for?

Aww!! Thanks *blush*

Well my latest experiment has been taking 1 pump of the biotera curl Creme and mixing it in my hand with a quarter size blob of ky jelly. I basically scrunch it in upside down right after I turn off the shower - so my hair is pretty much dripping wet. Once I think it is pretty well distributed I do a few more scrunches to wring out the extra water.

While I'm still upside down I get my gel mix together. I start with a small 2 finger scoop of KCCC (maybe a dime or nickel size?) in my hand I then squeeze a pea size blob of BRHG and about a quarter size blob of pure clean gel. Sounds weird but the KCCC & pure clean gels really get my waves going - but i need the hard hold of the BRHG.

I rub my hands together to mix and emulsify the products. Starting with my right hand I start scrunching the product into my hair upside down. Once I feel like all the product is off my hand and in my hair, I flip upright. I rub my hands together again to distribute the gel from my left hand into both hands. I lean to the right and repeat scrunching process with my right hand. Then I lean to the left and repeat scrunching process with my left hand. If any product is left I put it through my crown.

Next I use a microfiber towel to scrunch out any excess moisture and really push the product into my hair. If I have time I will plop for a few minutes. Then using a bowl diffuser to diffuse dry & SOTC.

For 2nd day hair I spray with water and usually scrunch a little more of the gels in (just depends on how well my waves look) and diffuse.

Sounds complicated, but it's really not to bad. Much easier than when I used to blow dry, flat iron, & use the hot rollers!!

I even managed to get 3rd day hair today Seems like my waves are getting better & better since going CG!!

Would love to see some pics of your hair

Well, my mom is a hairdresser and I just asked her to cut it off hahaha, not exactly sure what she did. I know she did put some long layers in the front. I have definitely seen a difference and my hair feels so much lighter and healthier! Go for it!
