Definitely interested. It would be great to be able to compare methods and what worked/didn't work with CG for some people.

Most wavies low poo regularly. Many have hair that will get too weighed down with straight cowashing. Most are still sulfate and silicone free though. I use the odd sulfate poo as a prep for a PT/DT. I still stick to sulfate and silicone free though, for the most part.

I'm interested! CG alone doesn't work for my super fine hair.
FIA: 2b-c/f/i, normal porosity/elasticity I think?

Current favs:
lo-poo: Giovanni
Co-Wash: V05 Kiwi Lime
RO: CJ Beauticurls,
LI: Ouidad Botanical Boost
PT/DT: Emergencee, Biolage Condish Balm

I would definitely be happy if they added a modified CG board! I'm not sure the CG method works all that well with my hair so I'd love to learn how to become a modified CG.
mod CG since March 2012
fine texture
normal porosity
normal elasticity
high density

& still trying to figure the rest out

+1. I low-poo regularly. cleansing conditioners seem to build up on my hair, rather than cleansing it.
hair type: 2B/3A
low poo: Elucence moisture; Elucence clarifying (after swimming)
condish: CJ smoothing; CJ argan; CJ repair me; CJ curl rehab; CJ strengthening (summer only)
winter styling: CJ Beauticurls leave-in + Curly Kinks coil jam + Ouidad mongongo oil; or CJ leave-in + SpiralSolutions CEJ & FHG
summer styling: CJ CCCC lite + CJ Curl Queen

I would love to have a mod CG forum! My hair gets weighed down and oily with the no poo that I have used. I would love to have a place to compare and get more ideas!

Definitely interested. I've been CG-ish (CG, modified CG, & back to CG) for the past two years, but I feel like something is lacking &/or that my hair just doesn't look as good as it could (it has to get better than this, right?) & I'm wondering if a lo-poo & less rigidity about product regimens could help.

Condish: Tresemme Naturals Vibrantly Smooth
Leave-In: Giovanni Direct Leave-In
Mousse: Herbal Essences Tousle Me softly
Gel: Garnier Fructis Pure Clean
Smoother: CJ's BUTTer (spray or solid)

Playing with natural oils, especially jojoba, coconut, etc.

+1 for a mod CG forum! Have been tossing around the idea lately about doing mod CG during the high dews months since I just am not finding a good product combo for the summer months.
Went full CG May '10.
Silicones sucked me in & I went Mod-CG in Dec '12.
Still paying for that one & trying to get my curls back!

A modified CG board would be excellent!

Being a 2a with lots of fine/medium textured hair, the total CG method just doesn't work for me. It gets, flat, greasy, limp looking.

I think the CG method is a great starting point and with lots of trial and error we find what works for us and our hair.

I've had some weird hair days since I stopped using cones and sulfate shampoo but it is a work in progress!

A reminder for people... Low poo is CG. Mod CG would be using occasional or regular sulfates and non water soluble cones.

2c/3a, M, ii, porous, good elasticity, APL, silvery dark brown.
Love coconut oil, olive oil, and Everyday Shea!

That does sound helpful...count me in.

I am mostly cg these days..but on occasion I will use Aussie Moist which has cones...I got a deep conditioner with lots of good stuff but mineral oil I think. And if my hair feels coated I won't hesitate to use shampoo...I try not to have to often...but I'll use whatever makes it look good.

Back on Cones,so now my routine is,wash with Deva No-Poo every other day or so. Occasionally use 365 sulfate free, maybe use low sulfate shampoo mixed with conditioner once every two weeks are longer. I condition with Aussie Moist or HEHH. I style with a little GF TN,and finish up with tons of GN Pure Clean Smoothing Cream. No frizz...slippy, happy hair.

Hi there.

I notice this thread is in the 2 section. I know I can't be the only person with afro-textured hair who uses shampoo. (No offense to wavies.)

Is there anyone else like me?
