I think I have my HG routine!
I have been having a hard time lately with the changing seasons and before with the constant battle b/t winter dryness/OCing. It's been months since I have liked my hair and was on the verge of just wearing pony tails until it grew out more. Well, I think I have now found my HG combo and wanted to share! It has worked consistently in 3 different dews and whether I co-wash or lo-poo. And I can apply all products in the shower!
Leave in - Ouidad Botanical Boost (just 2-3 squirts on the ends and one in my palm to get other tangly sections (smooth, then rake in)
Scrunch in some water to re-clump
Gel - combine quarter size of LALSG with pea/dime of Aussome Volume gel and scrunch in each section.
Scrunch out water with aquis microfiber towel, clip, and pixie diffuse until gel is set (50-60% dry). SOTC when dry.
I love that most of the products are super cheap and my dry time is reduced since I'm not using products that really extend dry time (kccc, I'm looking at you....)
Today is a rainy mess and my hair is still shiny and spirally, minimal frizz!
I think the Botanical Boost is key since this routine did not work as well with other leave-ins. I highly recommend it to fine wavies that need a super light leave in, it adds shine, gives a hit of protein, and makes my clumps smooth and spirally.
Long rant, but I wanted to share!

Wow! Thank you for sharing, since this ties in perfectly with my clumping rant! I'll have to try Botanical Boost

yes! I was ready to return it when it didn't work as well with more moisturizing gels (kccc, CJCQ), but it pairs really well with LALSG, which dries me out without a LI! It's pretty moisturizing but I think the protein balances it out so I don't get weighed down/OC'ed (this in itself, is a miracle).

Are you applying the gel to dripping wet hair then? I see you're towel scrunching after the gel step.

yes, soaking wet, only scrunch a little water out after supersoak. Otherwise, my clumps separate too much and I end up with Ramen noodles on my head. Not a good look for me....
