Ha! I guess should have done a search before making my own post like this. Apparently this is a common issue . I've only recently started accepting my 2a hair and have been working on techniques to bring it to its fullest potential rather than trying to make it curly. 2a hair is beautiful!

I think you *might* be my hair twin. Your wave pattern looks just like mine....just longer.....

I just think of it like this. beautiful hair/women are like beautiful sunsets. you cant compare them to one another because they r so stunning in their very own way. i have seen beautiful sunsets over the ocean and i have seen beautiful sunsets over cornfields. they cannot be compared. they are unique and equally breathtaking.
focus on making your hair healthy and strong and the beauty of it may just surprise you. even without curls.
hows that?

Aw thank you I've actually found the way waves or curls look don't make as much difference as hair properties though (the reason I say this is because the first woman I realized who was my hair twin has 3a hair, so our curl patterns look nothing alike, but we have the exact same properties, and our hair behaves almost exactly the same way)

Yes, kimmidawn and I are practically poster children for why properties are so much more important than curl pattern. I can't recall any product that one of us has liked that the other hasn't. And at this point if one of us doesn't like something I don't think the other one will even bother with it.

Agreed, I can think of at least one other wavy whose wave pattern also looks very similar to mine, but her hair behaves completely different, whereas Corrina777 and I have hair that is so similar, I try to ask her input on a product I'm thinking of buying if it's one I know she's tried. Hope you can find a hair twin that's exactly like you

Okay ladies, we were having a discussion this weekend in the Wavy Hair Group on FB (https://www.facebook.com/groups/wavyhaircommunity/ BTW, if you’re not already a member here you should join! It’s a fantastic group and everyone is very supportive and helpful. J ) about how some people get discouraged looking at the before and after forums because maybe their results aren’t as “drastic” as others.
It was brought up that a lot of those photos can be misleading as the same healthy hair can look different based on the products used and how it is styled. Someone posted some photos taken recently of her hair styled two different ways to illustrate the point. Since she is currently unable to share this post with all of you, I said I would do something similar.
These photos were taken within DAYS of each other and should be a good indication of how I could “fake” before and after results to make them seem more drastic. The only difference in my hair in these photos is the way I styled it. Also, remember that just because your hair doesn’t suddenly become 3b curls doesn’t mean it isn’t beautiful! As you can see, although it is possible for me to coax a bit more whirl out of my hair, my “go to” style is lovely 2a waves J
