I am too. I love my wavy hair. I can do a lot more with it than my friend who has super curly hair. Mine is also easier to manage and softer to touch. There's a lot of beautiful wavy hair out there. I mean, look at Taylor Swift. She's got gorgeous hair and it's WAVY, not curly. And on pinterest, magazines, and other forums, women are sharing ways to make their hair WAVY, not super curly.
So yes, I'm very happy with my wavy hair. It didn't start off really wavy. It was actually more bumpy than wavy. But it's gotten a lot wavier, healthier, and nicer looking over the past 6 months. Now I'm like "Oh my lovely waves, where have you been all my life?!"
I think you should post a photo of your hair so we can tell you how fabulous it looks (or how fabulous it can be!).
Look at all the photos in this wavy forum. Do you see a lot of pretty hair? I sure do! I also see a lot of people who have come a very long way in making their wavy hair the best it can be. I've attached a photo of my hair over the past 6 months. Starts off bumpy and ends up very different 6 months later.

I'm overjoyed with my wavies!! I've finally truly discovered them for the first time yesterday. (Whole other long post on the "2" board...) The best part -- no sticky gels or hairsprays, no perms, and a pretty quick and easy wash-spritz-crunch-and-go method! I had a perm once about 20 years ago and loved the waves it produced, but it damaged my hair so bad I swore I never would do it again. I've been craving those waves ever since, and now I have them without perming or other nasty sticky stuff. I just feel reborn now!

I definitely LOVE my wavy hair. I'm so glad I finally learned how to fix it. Except for a hair cut a couple weeks ago, I haven't straightened my hair since March 2. I don't plan to go back to doing it either.

New to curly girl. i've always just straitened my hair. I haven't in a while and my hair just keeps getting wavier. Its big and nuts and fun, but my mom doesn't like it. she said it was prettier when i straitened it everyday. She has naturally 2a hair but blow dries it strait everyday.
This is a pick of my first day of no cones. wish me luck.

I think your hair is beautiful! Some people just don't react well to change, but they'll deal with it. You're rocking what you naturally have... what's better than that?! Just keep embracing your waves and I'm sure your mom will start to love them too, because like I said, your hair is gorgeous!

Kstan - my dad does that too. He still makes comments about why don't you brush your hair (like that would straighten it! Hah!). I try to just ignore him.
Your hair is very pretty

thank you very much for the compliments. Now if I can figure out how to tame it and get a more consistent pattern. I'll be golden.

Kstan, I bet in 6 months, you've got some seriously amazing hair. give your hair time to get in shape and adjust to CG.
