Question Is this normal?

I have to start wearing my hair up at work, so I decided I just wouldn't wash it those days I wear it up, which is about 3. I went the full weekend without washing it, washed it today and lost a ton of hair in the shower, plus a ton when I combed it when I got out. Is this normal? I lose the same amount when i wash it every day which I guess was okay, but this was like triple and it was like strand after strand. I'm kind of freaking out. lol.

Yes it's normal it's the three days worth of hair being removed at once instead of daily

Yup, same thing happens to me. I tend to lose a ton of hair anyway but more so if I skip a day.

Normal! I only wash my hair every 4-6 days, so I get what looks like a small mouse in the shower each time I wash my hair...so that sounds gross, but it's normal. You're supposed to lose something like 100 hairs a day, so if you wait a few days to wash and comb, you'll have a few hundred more hairs

Also since I am going 3 days without washing it, my roots tend to get oily...will that eventually go away?? Or do I need to just keep using the dry shampoo?

As your roots adjust to a less drying regimen, they will produce less oil. If you use a dry shampoo, the roots may continue thinking they need to continue replenishing the oil, and not make this adjustment.

But I think it can take a loooooong time for that to happen. Personally, my roots never got the memo, even when I'd go about 4 days inbetween washings for almost 2 years.

Before I went CG, I conditioned my scalp to go longer and longer before getting oily (at this point, I can go five days or more before I see any oil. It's not a quick process (for me it took probably six months to go from getting oily by day 2 to getting oily by day 4), but it's definitely worth it.

I noticed this too, after I started wearing my hair curly on a regular basis. My hair started to clog the drain, which it never did when I straightened daily. I freaked out too, thinking I was losing more hair, but it doesn't appear to be thinning and I think it's because I'm not touching it or brushing/combing during the day like I used to. So I think you are fine.
