Default Newbie here!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself since I'm new to CG (4 days in). I'm cowashing with suave coconut, rinse out with granier fructis triple nutrition and gel is herbal essences totally twisted curl scrunch. I still have frizzes though and thinking about adding some garnier smoothing milk. Would that be too much product? Thanks!!

Unless you've had it for a while (several months) the Triple Nutrition is no-longer CG-friendly (contains amodimethicone). It's not supposed to build up but that would be one of the first things I would consider changing if you're having problems.

Oh thank you!!! I just bought it, so thanks for the heads up. How do I search for CG friendly stuff on the products page? There are 2 places to check silicone free and they each give different results. I think one is product attributes and the other is ingredient attributes.

I think the GF smoothing milk also contains cones. I bought some before I went CG and it's sitting under my sink now. The cones it has are dimethiconol (non-water soluable) and PEG/PPG-17/18 Dimethicone (water soluable).

Here's the list I refer to for silicone free products (although it was last updated in 2010, so double check the product label when you get to the store): Sulfate, Protein & Silicone-Free Products | Healthy Curls

If you're looking for a CG friendly conditioner, I highly recommend TRESemme Naturals moisturizing conditioner. It's completely silicone free and it really keeps my hair smooth and frizz free. It's also not that expensive, I think it's about $4 a bottle. I also use about a dime size drop on it after my shower as a leave-in to detangle and smooth. I've been using it for 2 years now.
