wavy and PT?
I have fine hair...I color it, so it is fair to assume I should do a PT?
What are the basics? Lo poo before hand? Deep condition afterwards? What are your favorite DiY recipes that use eggs? (I raise chickens, so I have a LOT of free range organic eggs to use up!)
What is the desired result from a PT treatment? Will it help my random sections that don't curl up much?
Thanks!

PTs accomplish two things. For damaged, porous hair, they fill in the "holes" in the hair strands. For fine hair, they add additional structure and support. Many people report a boost in wave/curl formation. If you do a PT prior to coloring, it will also help to give more even color results.
I don't know of any PTs involving eggs (I use IAGirl's PT, which is gelatin based). You might want to try searching the natural hair care forum and the NC.com site as a whole.

PTs for fine hair is generally a good idea. There are a couple of fine wavies who are protein sensitive, but I think the majority of us do very, very well with protein. I love IAgirl's gelatin PT. It's inexpensive, easy, and super effective. I do it 1x per week, and it has made a world of difference in my hair. My hair has become stronger, shinier, and holds it curl better after doing these PTs regularly. I would suggest trying it once, and if your hair doesn't hate it, keep up with it because the results get better over time. (If your hair hates it, it might become more brittle and break easier. Here is a great link for seeing photos of what protein can do: Protein vs Moisture « Pittsburgh Curly)
And here is the gelatin PT thread: PT recipe - as promised

Thanks! I picked up gelatin today so I can do this tomorrow.
My hair looks really stringy and greasy.....but it isn't greasy. I think it is already over conditioned? I read the PT will help that. I am dropping my GFructis conditioner. I am going to try the VO5 as my Cowash and the SN as my RO.....
But the curl is REALLY starting to take off! I just had no idea my hair would do this!

You may just need to give your hair some time to adjust to the CG method. Also, many wavies find that they need regular low-poos. I either low-poo or use a cleansing conditioner basically every day, straight co-washing doesn't work for me more than 1-2 times per week. What stylers are you using? Sometimes those can be the culprit for greasy looking hair. But overall, I'd say just hang in there and give it at least 4-6 weeks for everything to even out.

Stylers: I have been using DevaCurl Arc AnGel or GF curling spray gel.
For second day hair, I have a homemade sea salt spray that I use.
My lo poo is BS/acv and I do that about every 5 days. I was doing just a water wash after about 3 days. So I did a co-wash instead.....that is when my hair seemed greasy.
My hair looks less greasy today, and it is clumping nicely. So the PT seemed to help that. bUT it seems less curly. But maybe it is the Arc AnGel? I wonder is my gel or sea salt spray would make my hair curlier.
