Product help - Kinky-Curly and Curls
My local Target is finally stocking SheaMoisture, Kinky-Curly, and Curls. I got a SheaMoisture Curl & Shine kit last week and liked the shampoo and styling products.
I haven't yet tried any of the Kinky-Curly products or Curls products and took inventory at Target:
Kinky-Curly Come Clean
Kinky-Curly Knot Today
Kinky-Curly Curling Custard
Kinky-Curly Spiral Spray
Curls Lavish Curls Moisturizer
Curls Passionfruit Curl Control Paste
Curls Creamy Curl Cleanser
Curls Coconut Curlada Conditioner
Curls Goddess Curl Gel
Curls Blissful Lengths Kukinut Oil Elixir
Curls Cream Brule
What have your experiences been with these products? Any details you can give me would be much appreciated.

I've had great results with the KC line, I've not tried the come clean though.
I can't speak to the other lines at target but I'll be watching this thread to learn more.

I just picked up the KCCC a few weeks ago and really like it.
the first day was FANTASTIC then I had a few hit or miss days, but now I'm using it almost daily - a tiny bit as sort of a base coat for other things most days, some days a bit more and then less layering of other products. (I've also started using a modified super soaker method on days I use this - KCCC, then fine toothed comb (upside down), then water at the sink - then blot with a microfiber towel, THEN additional products, it's giving me good clumping that way)
I'd suggest with this that less is more, at least at first to get a feel for it. sometimes I just dip a finger in, rub that around in my hands and run it through my hair (my hair is pretty short, though).
I'm watching this post with interest because I've been eyeing the curls line, too....

The Kinky Curly line ha been my staple since my transition and most definitely less is more.
There is definitely a learning curve with the amount you need. In the beginning I used globs and globs until my hair was a crunchy jheri curl. Now I know to use no more than a tbsp for my entire head for perfect curls.

I just bought the KC Curling Custard and have used it a few times. My hair is almost BSL, on the thin side of medium density. I divide my soaking wet hair into two sections and use 1-finger dip of the KCCC on each side (smoothed and scrunched in), one more grazed over the canopy, then comb out the tangles. It feels like it sucks the moisture out of my hair as I apply it, but the results after drying are amazing. Soft, touchable, clumpy waves! Not sticky, greasy or flaky. Frizz is moderate, so I'm gradually increasing the amount of KCCC I use to see if that improves. I am using KCKT as a leave in under the KCCC.
I also got the Curls Creme Brule, but haven't figured out what to do with it yet...a little nervous about it for some reason.

I've used the curls goddess curl gel. It is a lighter weight, almost watery gel. I felt like I had to use a lot of it and I went through the bottle pretty quickly. I didn't like the way it left my curls / waves - kind of stringy and crunchy at the same time. I switched to the creme Brûlée and love it. It doesn't take very much to make your hair feel like it has some he in it, and it leaves the curls bouncier and softer. Maybe if you wanted a little extra hold you could try it with the gel. I haven't tried that. Usually the creme itself is enough for me

I've used all 4 of the KC products you listed. The shampoo has a surfactant which is pretty harsh, so even though it's considered sulfate-free it is quite stripping. I would either steer clear of it, or use it just occasionally. The curling custard works really great for my hair - I agree with the less is more approach. The leave-in (KCKT) has good slip which helps with detangling and is lightly moisturizing. I feel just ok about it but a lot of people love it. The spiral spritz is nothing to write home about - does hardly anything honestly. The only way I've figured out to use it is for SOTC, and it works pretty well for that I guess, but I won't repurchase when I finish mine. So - in summary - I would try KC curling custard and KCKT if you want!
For the Curls line, I've only tried Goddess Curls gel. It's ok. I consider it more of a curl enhancer than gel actually - it has zero hold in my hair. It does help make my whurls and curls tighter - but the sorbitol in it is a humectant and can lead to frizz in my hair. I get the best results when I seal with oil, apply the Goddess Curls gel, then apply a hard hold gel over that.

I have a love/hate relationship with KCCC. It is curl enhancing but hard to know how much to use. I heard the Come Clean is stripping so I'd stay away from it unless you want to use it as a clarifying shampoo. The leave-in is really nice.
I've only used the Goddess gel. It has no hold but some good clumping and some curl enhancement.

I've been using KCKT as a leave in for a few weeks now. I like it, but have to be careful not to use more than a pea size amount in my hair. It's med/fine and pretty dense, but if I use too much KCKT, it weighs it down and I end up with limp waves...

I had the opposite issue with the KCKT - it was good at detangling, but not moisturizing enough. Like others, I finally got the KCCC to work - less is definitely more for me with this, but when you get it right the results are great. I may try the KCKT again now that I've got the KCCC working for me (when I tried it before it was under other stylers). I've never used the spiral spritz, but the come clean was horribly stripping. So my suggestion would be the KCKT and KCCC from the Kinky Curly line.
From the Curls line, I've tried the goddess gel and the coconut curlada conditioner. The gel was just meh, but I really like the conditioner. I haven't tried anything else from that line.

KC Come Clean- WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too drying! It says it's ok for every day use, but someone told me it's actually only for once a month and you're supposed to do a DT after. That explains a lot.
KCKT- Good. Not too heavy so should be great for fine curlies, but not nearly moisturizing enough for me.
KCSS- Didn't do anything for me but dry me out and make me frizzy.
KCCC- Loved it and hated it. Sometimes I had amazing results, but sometimes my hair was horrible. Too inconsistent.
However, that's just my hair. These may work great for you!
My hair is just very picky. I don't think it likes aloe very much, and this is an aloe-based system.
