how often do you.......

Other wavie's do things like:

Co-wash?
Lo-poo?
Water wash?
PT?

Trying to figure out if I should be doing things more often/less often.

I was no-poo before starting CG, but since I have given up the boar hair brush, trying to figure out when to do things. Before CG, I washed my hair with BS/acv every 5 days and would water wash once in between then. But now that I am CG, I am wondering if I should actually co-wash more often? It seems like my hair is soaking up the conditioner. When I co-wash w/ my V05, I seem to need a LOT of conditioner b/c my hair is soaking it up. But at the same time I don't want to weigh my hair down.

So wavies....what is you schedule?

Currently dealing with learning how to style shorter wavy hair...
I low-poo twice a week (Wednesday and Saturday), and co-wash every day that I don't low-poo. I'm still pretty new to CG so I'm experimenting with a lot of different products in different combinations. Some days I get really gluey results so I'll low-poo the next morning if I need to get the gunk out. I haven't figured out PTs yet, still trying to get a good result using IAGirl's recipe, maybe third time will be the charm...

"Hair really is the crowning glory of a woman. It lights up her person, it frames her face, it makes a halo around her." - Ann Harding
My hair is not too fond of protein (small doses followed by lots of moisture are good, but more than that and it either goes all straight or dries out) and needs tons of moisture, and I've been working out nearly every day which necessitates washing every day. CO washing is gentle enough that you can do it as often as you'd like.

My almost-daily routine:
CO wash
Moisturizing rinse-out conditioner while I do the rest of my shower routine
Leave-in (sometimes I won't fully RO, other times I'll use KCKT after rinsing)
Seal with oil (sweet almond, just a couple drops rubbed between my palms)

Once a week I'll use AO GBP as my RO conditioner, about as heavy a PT as I've dared to try so far, and follow it with a DT (CJ Curl Rehab under a plastic cap for 15-30 minutes).

I've added a low-poo into the rotation too, not sure how often I'll need to use it - will try using it once a week or so, more often if I find I need it. I'm planning to experiment a bit with water-only on days that I think my head can handle it, but when I'm super sweaty it's not enough for me.
A very frizzy 1c/2a/F/iii, normal porosity and elasticity as far as I can tell

Current product rotation:
Low-poo: ES bubble bath
CO wash: Suave Naturals Tropical Coconut
RO: SS Caitlin's Conditioner, Desert Essence Coconut, AO GBP, CJ Curl Rehab
DT: CJ Curl Rehab
LI: KCKT topped with sweet almond oil
Co-wash - every other day

Lo-poo - every other day (opposite days of co-wash)

Water wash - whenever I'm washing 2X in one day (I exercise a lot)

PT - twice a week
I alternate days of co-washing and lo-pooing. But I do second-day hair all the time because I'm lazy so it's like:

Day One: Lo-Poo
Day Two: Style for second-day hair
Day Three: Co-Wash
Day Four: Style for second-day hair
Repeat

I don't water-wash or do PT anymore.
What works for you will depend a lot on your hair properties. But, with that said, here's what I do. No hard and fast rules, I just guess what I feel my hair might need most.

Co-wash: ~1x per week (if that)
Cleansing conditioner: ~2-3x per week
Low-poo: all the other days of the week
RO: almost every day unless I feel my hair doesn't need the moisture that day.

PT: 1x per week

DT: 2x per month (max)
I usually co-wash daily and use a low poo every 2nd or 3rd wash, depending on how gunky my hair is feeling. I have never water washed and I dont have any plans to start. I do a protein treatment followed by a short deep treatment every week because my hair loves protein. I also dont need much moisture other than my CO, which is why my DT are very short (maybe 5 min, tops). You really just have to play around to figure out what your hair likes. I've figured out my shower routine, but I still struggle with styling and try new stuff pretty much daily.
Fia: 2a f/m ii
Normal porosity, low-normal elasticity, fine-medium, medium-high density

I have the laziest waves imaginable. Still trying to figure out how to make the most of them. I have permanent beach hair.

CG as of 6/2/12

Low poo: Devacare low poo, SM Coconut & Hibiscus
CW: VO5 kiwi lime
RO: Cure Care or GVPCB and Tresemme Naturals when I need moisture
Leave in: CJ CCCCL, CJ Beauticurls
Enhancer: Ecostyler, Re:coil, FSG w/ mag sulfate, SSCEJ
Styler: AIF, AG Foam, CIAB
Co-wash: Every 3-6 days, as needed.

Low-poo: once a month

So my week is like:
Day One: Co-wash, style
Day Two: smooth frizzies with light condish or mousse, spray Tigi curl booster and smooth
Day Three: same
Day Four: same
Day Five: same, or co-wash and start cycle over

Haven't done a PT or DT as yet. I've only been doing this since moderately since Feb and full on since mid-April. I think it just depends on the texture and porosity of your hair since I know a lot of wavies need to low-poo more often. My hair just doesn't like a lot of messing with it.

CG 4/13/2012

I Co-Poo (conditioner and shampoo mix) every time I wash, because I've returned to silicone use for now. I only wash my hair twice a week, three times if I've done a lot of intense sweating due to exercise. I never do protein treatments, my hair doesn't need it, but I'm attempting to start DTing once a week.
