Default How do you "contain" your hair to make it more professional?

I'm starting a new job Monday and feel the need to have more professional looking hair. I want something that look like it is "on purpose" rather than fly-away or even just "pretty"

My hair is too soft to go into braids and it falls out of buns. Any ideas?

I'm attaching an old picture, but it is pretty close to the length mine is now. I have swoopy bangs that are about nose-length.

My office is business casual so I pin my hair up a lot. Bobby pins are my best friend.

I posted a lot of links here of styles similar to the ones I do. Some of them may be too casual but hopefully you'll find something you like.

Updo ideas for a curly bob?

I will say that my hair isn't fine but I hear that if it is, it's a good idea to do a DIY sticky bobby pin to help them stay in place. Tutorial here: I

I am always saving ideas for things to try on my hair so if you are looking for something different, I can probably dig something up.

You can work on techniques of twisting and pinning sections back or up in a way that still shows off your curls. I'm not that good at short updos (one reason I keep my hair long), but YouTube is my best friend when it comes to updos.
