Default Time for a trim?

Hi - I am experimenting posting some photos... here is a picture of my hair today, diffused with some curls rock amplifier:

And a picture from last winter or so...

In May I had my hair trimmed at Ambushed Salon in Columbus OH - Amy Bush..she specializes in curlies... I'm thinking about getting it layered more..sort of a modified shag look but keep the length..I have bangs, which are straight..

Can you tell by looking at my hair if a trim would make it curlier, or would I be cutting off my curl? On the other hand, it may limit me putting up my hair... help! I think I am a 2C.

Your curls looked great when your hair was shorter, it would seem that layers would give you more curl. Your ends curl, so more layers=more ends =more curl. Figure out how long the shortest layer has to be and still long enough to be put up, and go from there.
