side bangs--do you have this issue?
When I style my side bangs, and I never can get them totally straight with the blow dryer. But anyways. . . what do you all do with your curls that are so beautifully forming on the sides, so that they don't get wrapped in the round brush or mixed in with the bangs? IF I pin them back ,I feel that takes my curl down and volume out. I went to the stylist and my beautiful, wet damp curls . . .you know what she did? ? she grabbed them all, smoothed her hands over them how many times, and pinned them back. what do you all do with your side curls while you blow dry your side bangs. And anyone know about the flat wrap method of blow drying to get a cowlick out?? I can't get it, it looks so simple and yet my cowlick is always laughing at me.

Great post! I would love to hear what others do with their bangs as well. What I do sometimes is separate my bangs from the rest of my hair then blow dry it. After I style the rest of my hair. This way if pieces get in the round brush I don't mind because I can just add them back to the section that will get styled. My other method is to just pin to the side ( you can do a twist with it and push up before clipping to give front volume btw) then i scrunch the rest of the hair with mousse.

Thanks, hopefully people will reply to help us out. I hate to have to rewet pieces and reshape,b ut I know. . . once that blow dryer touches them, they look different than the rest that are getting blow dryed, and I Hate trying to get them out of the way every time I go to round brush again.

ONe more thing WXgirl, I mean when my hair is totally wet and doing it's "formation" thing. I know when it's dry, it's easy to pull it back in a pony or something and style later, but on wash days, that's when I struggle. Is that maybe when you pin it back, doing twists? I can see that. BTW: how do you get it straight with the round brush? I don't know what I"m doing wrong, but I know people who can get it almost perfectly straight with the round brush. I wish I could do that, so I wouldn't have to always use the straightener, but I always still have curl when I finish drying with the round brush.

Hi mammaherrara!
I understand your pain. To get the bangs straight I use a really big boar bristle round brush that is I think 3in in diameter. It still has a little curl at the end but does look smoother than if I were to use the smaller round brushe. For blow dryer I use one of those ion t3 dryers from revlon. It is pretty quiet, light weight and drys fast.
Oh When I do the clippy thing with my bangs i do it while my hair is wet otherwise I find that my bangs would stick out at the ends and look funny.
Hope I answered everything

What I do is, I get out of the shower part my hair, pull my bangs out of the rest of my hair, take a claw clip and clip my wet hair back, style my bangs, unclip the rest of my hair, style that, and I'm good to go. As long as your hair is wet, it wont mess up your curl pattern. I also spray in a leave in conditioner before I pin back the rest of my hair. I hope I helped you ladies out! 😌

I don't straighten my bangs. I scrunch and diffuse them just like the rest of my hair. In the pic in my signature, I had them pushed back but they look cute hanging down on my forehead too.
Here's a larger version of my sig pic so you can see what I'm talking about : http://i50.tinypic.com/2rhlqud.jpg

So you style your curls when they're damp, not soaking wet?? And you must just JUMP on those bangs, no makeup, no clothes, just right to the bangs? Do you find you have to spritz your hair with water if it starts getting too dry? [

I used to straighten mine but then i started just leaving them curly like the rest. Theyve grown out now & arent really bangs anymore so they blend in but once i started doing them along with the rest of my hair I started really liking them curly. Ive posted this pic before in another thread asking about side bangs but here they are again when they used to be bangs

Thanks! Mine didnt curl at all for a while after i quit straightening them. I went thru some awkward times with them pinned back & weird looking but they healed from heat damage after a bit & looked better. My front sections are still the weakest curls I have, theyve taken the most abuse over the years.
