advice needed about build up

I exclusively use Giovanni 50/50 shampoo a few times a week and then use a little bit of Boticelli Botanicals flaxseed gelee to condition and style my hair. I seem to get a lot of build up (or rather, more build up than I'd like). I do a deep apple cider vinegar scrub once a week, because of the build up.

I know that Giovanni has c 12-14 olefin sulfonate and Cocamidopropyl Betaine. Could these be causing build up?

I'm at a loss for what shampoo to use regarding this build up issue. I've tried no poo before (both devacurl's no poo and the baking soda no poo), i've tried devacurls low poo, jessicurls gentle lather shampoo and other sulfate free shampoos (alba etc) and nothing has worked. The baking soda no poo regimen made me greasy for weeks and the rest were too oily/greasy/conditioned for me (I have fine 2b waves). Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

The two ingredients you mentioned are surfacants (and pretty good surfacants- either is capable of removing even non-water-soluble silicones). So they are definitely not causing buildup. Please don't take this the wrong way, but I wonder if what you're feeling in your hair isn't buildup but another issue.
