Default Totally frustrated, need help with haircut

Hi i have been trying to find some one to cut wavy hair and unless i want to drive 2+ hours to get one im out of luck. My hair is 2a and i feel my hair would benefit greatly from a cut that is specialized for my hair. Ive got my hair cut from a stylist that was recomended by a curly haired girl or by a stylist that assures me she know how to cut wavy/curly hair and it always turns out to be an epic fail. Do you guys have any suggestions on what i could do? I know my waves have so much more potential but im kinda stuck. What do you other 2a wavies do if you are unable to get to a trained stylist? Whew thats the end of my rant. I would appreciate any advice you can give me.

My hair is 2a,fine normal porousity.low elastisity

There is a thread somewhere about how to talk to your hairstylist in their own language... what to say to them to get them to understand what you're asking for. If you do a search in the forums you might be able to find it. Good luck!

Hey! I think all wavy haired girls have suffered terrible cuts at some point in their lives...cutting it like straight hair just doesn't work. I actually got my hair cut today, and I really like it. I usually go to the local hair school because it's so cheap and the instructor there looked at my hair a few haircuts ago and basically begged me to let her do the 'Brittany/Brittney' haircut on me. It really enhanced my curl pattern. I got my hair cut again today (it's been nearly six months, so the cut had sort of grown out) and my curls/waves behaved really well. I'm not sure about how widespread this cut is, but you might try asking for it at at your local hair school....as a bonus, the instructor always has the student just watch when they do mine since it's usually new to the student.
