A good curl enhancer?
What's your favorite curl enhancer?
Before CG I used one called Sexy Curly Hair creme, LOVED it! It's full of cones though so I can't use it anymore. Lately i've been trying one called Curly Curl Creme by Tahlia Waajid and I really like it but I'd like to find a lighter, runnier curl enhancer that's easier to put in my hair. Preferably one I can get at Sallys or a drugstore.

I like KCCC (Target) and As I Am Curling Jelly (Sallys). Both are on the more expensive side but are good curl enhancers. I think Sally's also has a lighter, runnier curl enhancer by Bioterra (or something like that).

My hair:
2b wavy, medium texture, low porosity, med-high density. Protein finicky.
My routine:
Cleansing: DCNP, every 4-5 days (occasionally use CJ cleansers).
RO: CJSC, occasionally use JCDC
LI: KCKT or CJSL
Gel: KCCC, CJCIAB for 2nd day hair (sometimes third)
Heat is my friend: warm water rinses, steam caps, and diffuse dry. I love CLU cloths and my Denman.

Uhh.. Does sea salt or epsom salt count? Or just plain flax seed gel?

- a tiny bit of plain coconut oil in soaking wet hair squish/scrunched in
- honey (I put a teaspoon in 200ml water and use that as my last rinse before stepping out of the shower)
- Aloe Vera Gel
- products with silk protein
- KMS California Curl Up wave mousse (has a bit of protein and amino acids, but I can handle it quite well)
- Jessicurl Gelebration Spray (when dews are >45F)
- Jessicurl Confident Coils with low or very high dews
- Curl Junkie CCCC Lite when I need more moisture

My magic mix for curl enhancement is a blend of:
1 pump of L'Oreal EverSleek Humidity Defying Leave-Creme, 2 pumps of Redken Ringlet 07 Curl Perfecting Lotion, and about 5 spritzes of Epsom Salt/Water Spritz (mixed at 1 tsp Epsom to 1 Cup water). Put all of this in hand and rub between palms to get smooth creamy lotion and apply evenly through hair, scrunching. After fully in hair, spritz more of the epsom salt water spritz more liberally over hair and continue scrunching. Air dry and scrunch out.
This looks especially amazing after using the GVP Conditioning Balm.
The Redken Ringlet 07 Curl Perfecting Lotion does have cones, but I've never encountered any problems while using it.

I'm not new at being curly but more at using products. I like the Garnier Fructis Curl Shaping Spray. I had been applying it when wet before scrunching and twirling but now I wait until it is mostly towel and air dried.

I am a total product junkie who has been trying to reign in my stash to a reasonable size. I can't tell you how many curl enhancers I've tried- I've lost count. If I could only choose one I would go with AG Re:Coil- it's the only fully CG-friendly curl enhancer that has consistently given me good results (admittedly I just got some Spiral Solutions Curl Enhancing Jelly to try out). My next favorite is TIGI Curls Rock Amplifier (this does have cones, but they are all cyclo-cones, which evaporate off of the hair during the drying process, so there is no buildup).
