Help for an overwhelmed beginner

So, this CG method is all very new to me and I must say, I'm overwhelmed a bit. I was hoping for some advice from you all on how I should treat my hair.

I'm 2B, low porosity, medium density, coarse and long. Possibly high density, but not too sure. What regimen would you recommend?

Also, does anyone straighten their hair or style it with a curling iron or rollers sometimes? I haven't straightened my hair since my son was born, but I'd like to be able to again one day!

Thanks!

Here is a good link:

General rule of thumb. Coarse hair doesn't like protein very much. Remember, your hair/scalp might look or get worse for awhile before it gets better!
