My wavy hair always gets puffy?

Does anyone know how to calm this down? I follow the CG method and use gel and a leave in conditioner in my hair, but for some reason after about an hour I have tons of flyaways and puffy ugly waves. How can I keep my hair nice all day at school without it turning into a puffy mess? I even try devacurl mister right, but that doesnt work. Help please!

What gel are you using? you may need a harder hold gel!

After you apply your gel (I scrunch it into wet hair), make sure you don't touch it too much so the cast can harden.

Method works as well as product (sometimes more so!) check out the Methods sticky in Newbies forum and also General Hair discussions forum...you could try some different methods, and see if they help....?

You can try smoothing your hair down with oil. Just enough to make your hands shiny (I use only a few drops for different sections in my hair. It helps with frizz, shine, and seal moisture in hair.

I have the same thing.. my hair is fine/medium and I don't think I have a lot of it but it ends up looking super thick and puffy after it dries. What has really helped is by using two good quarter sized dollups of rich conditioner as leave in. Coconut oil in wet hair also helps. The ULTIMATE though is this recipie by IAgirl http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlta...url-cream.html because it somehow added ALOT of weight to my hair. The only reason why I don't use this as much anymore is because I find FSG a pain to make and keep fresh... but I tell you that recipie is worth a shot. Perhaps if you don't have fsg you can substitute it with another type of gel.
