Oh no! Need a new styling product :(

So I haven't been using any styling products in my hair for about 2 years, since I have been a SAHM and I had the time to let it air dry. Since going back to work full time, I went to buy some HESMU gel and noticed that the formula has changed!! I can't use it anymore now, so I need a new gel. Can anyone recommend a sulfate/silicone/protein free, light hold gel from the drugstore?

I don't know about drugstore, but tomorrow I'm going to try aloe vera gel with a few drops of oil.. Olive or castor.. I don't have any cheap stylers here where I live and also they weigh my waves down.. I don't know if I have been of any help to you though.. :(

Where do you find alcohol-free aloe vera gels? All the ones I look at have alcohol in them.

I live in kolkata, India. I use a local brand. It has a bit of alcohol I guess, but it doesn't really dry out my hair .. I used it with two drops of castor oil, just to coat the top layer of my hair and it worked well ..

If you don't get commercial aloe gel where you live, you can always buy fresh aloe vera leaves at the grocery store and blend them with whatever you want in a mixer. I have heard natural aloe doesn't leave the hair crunchy and gives good hold too.
You may also try flax seeds to make a light hair gel. Google it !! :)

In case you do use natural aloe vera leaves to make hair gel, don't forget to add a bit of vitamin e oil and a vitamin c tablet (crushed) ..for preservatives.. Gel from two leaves should last you a week or so

I don't think the formula has changed.

I buy the Shea Moisture products from eBay.. They are not available here in India.. :(((

I was going to recommend Aussie Instant Freeze, but it might have more hold than you're looking for. Also you can typically buy edible (presumably alcohol free) aloe vera gel at health food/organic/nutritional stores.
