Default haircut tomorrow,need some suggestions

I have 2b/2c hair. thick, coarse, almost BSL hair. low to normal porosity... getting haircut with new stylist. i'm very low maintenance. very thick hair that really has too much volume...what would be a good suggestion for a "safe bet" haircut? Im thinking face framing and then
long layers in back..but where should the layers start at in the back(how high up)..someone recommended having her twist my hair and then run her shears down each twist to get rid of bulk without frizz...is this a good suggestion?
any help would be VERY appreciated!!! i'm kinda clueless......

That is how my stylist cuts my hair and it seems to work well (the twist thing). I've had it cut that way when it was BSL and then later on when I had it cut to shoulder length.

I wear my hair straight more often in the winter so I like low maintenance too!

I just always ask for long layers and that the underlayer be cut a little shorter. No thinning!
